Pennisetum Glaucum 'Inky'
Availability: Out of stock
A versatile ornamental grass, Pennisetum glaucum 'Inky' boasts dark foliage and bold architectural flower spikes that fit in almost any garden style. This unique variety forms clumps of rich, near-black strap-like leaves, beautifully contrasted by tall, velvety bottlebrush plumes in burgundy and black tones from summer into early autumn. The dark colouring creates a strong contrast in borders and contemporary planting schemes, while the elegant flower heads sway gracefully in the breeze, adding movement and texture to the garden.
Thriving in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny and sheltered position, 'Inky' is drought-tolerant once established. Remove faded flower spikes and trim back old foliage at the end of the season to maintain a tidy appearance. Pair with rudbeckia, echinacea or silver foliage plants for a striking, contrasting display full of colour and texture.
Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
