Acer palmatum atropurpureum Bloodgood - Deep Purple Japanese Maple

This gorgeous variety of Japanese maple has striking, deep red-purple leaves. The leaves are stunning in both colour and shape. In the spring this tree will treat you to small purple flowers followed by red fruits in the summer. In the autumn the leaves develop into an even deeper red before falling for the winter, making way for beautiful new growth in the spring.

This is a versatile plant – it will grow in any soil type that is well-drained and kept moist. It will enjoy a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade.
