Juniperus chinensis ‘Stricta’ is a beautifully architectural, evergreen conifer, admired for its narrow form and finely textured blue-green foliage that holds its colour throughout the year. It's naturally neat, columnar shape brings structure and calm to planting schemes, making it ideal as a focal point in borders, gravel gardens or containers. 

This juniper thrives in a sunny position and prefers free-draining soil, coping well with drier conditions once established. It works particularly well alongside plants that soften or contrast its vertical habit, such as Festuca glauca for colour harmony or Lavandula angustifolia ‘Hidcote’ for fragrance and texture. In mixed borders, it pairs nicely with flowering perennials like Echinacea and Salvia, creating a balanced composition that combines structure with seasonal movement and interest.
