Asphodeline lutea 'Yellow Candle'

Native to the eastern Mediterranean, this clumping member of the Lily family greets spring with intriguing spirals of tightly wrapped blade-like foliage, patterned like green candy canes. Emerging from blue-hued grassy tufts, these leafy flowering spikes soon become dense with fragrant citron yellow, star shaped blooms, which look striking in drifts beside Ceanothus. Intriguing hard, marble-sized, green fruit that appears after the flowers fade.
