Polemonium caeruleum album - Jacob's ladder

Polemonium caeruleum ‘Album’ is a refined, cottage-garden perennial valued for its elegant sprays of soft white, bell-shaped flowers held above finely divided, fern-like foliage. The blooms float lightly on slender stems, creating a calm, airy presence that brings freshness and brightness to borders, woodland edges and informal planting schemes. Its delicate structure and gentle colouring make it an excellent foil for bolder plants, adding texture and a sense of movement without overwhelming neighbouring companions.

This Jacob’s ladder thrives in lightly shaded to sunny positions with moisture-retentive, well-drained soil, where it will establish easily and flower reliably in late spring and early summer. It pairs beautifully with plants that echo its softness and enhance its form, such as Narcissus Geranium, Vinca minor alba, and Dicentra Amore Titanium.
