Helleborus orientalis Double Ellen Purple - Oriental Hellebore

Prized for its velvety double flowers in plum-purple shades, Helleborus orientalis 'Double Ellen Purple' is a beautiful semi-evergreen perennial. Starting from late winter to early spring, the nodding flowers rise and provide early colour while the garden is just beginning to awaken.

Thriving in partial shade with moist but well-drained soil, this hellebore is ideal for woodland borders, shaded beds, or beneath deciduous shrubs where it can naturalise gently.

It pairs beautifully with Helleborus foetidus, Anemone blanda 'Blue Shade', and Cyclamen coum, all of which enhance the seasonal display with complementary textures and tones. Remove old foliage in late winter to showcase the flowers and keep the plant looking fresh, allowing new growth to emerge cleanly for the season ahead.

Supplied as established plants growing in approx. 1 litre containers, these are supplied in bud and flower in season.
