Gardenia jasminoides 'Pinwheel' - Cape Jasmine

Gardenia jasminoides ‘Pinwheel’ is an exquisite evergreen shrub that enchants gardeners with its distinctive, pinwheel-shaped flowers. The narrow-petaled, single white flowers boast the most intense sweet fragrance, reminiscent of jasmine, and bloom profusely from late spring through to early summer. Its lance-shaped glossy, dark-green leaves remain all-year-round, providing the perfect backdrop for the bright flowers. This shrub has a bushy habit with a ultimate height and spread between 0.5-1 metres, making it ideal for mixed scheme planting in containers of borders or as a focal point along paths.  

 

Exceptionally hardy, ‘Pinwheel’ has a more cold-tolerant nature than other Gardenias and is able to thrive in exposed or sheltered gardens. Make sure to place it in partial shade and moist but well-drained soil.
