Heliopsis Sunburst

Heliopsis 'Sunburst' is a hardy herbaceous perennial grown as much for its foliage as its flowers. Akin to mini sunflowers with ten times the flowers, this variety features beautifully variegated leaves, heavily marbled cream and green with prominent dark green veining, creating interest from spring until autumn. During these months, masses of cheerful golden-yellow, daisy-like blooms with amber centres rise above the foliage, attracting beneficial pollinators to the garden.

A superb choice for bouquets, cottage gardens, wildlife planting schemes, and large patio containers, 'Sunburst' brings colour and contrast even when not in flower. Plant in full sun or light shade in fertile, well-drained soil for the strongest variegation and best flowering display. Deadhead spent blooms regularly to prolong flowering and maintain a tidy appearance. Water during prolonged dry periods, particularly in its first season, and apply a balanced fertiliser in spring to encourage vigorous growth and abundant flowers. Cut stems back to ground level in late autumn or early spring. 

Heliopsis plants are valued for their long flowering season, pollinator-friendly blooms, and dependable garden performance, providing months of colour with very little maintenance.
