Helleborus orientalis Pretty Ellen Purple - Hellebore
Availability: In stock
Pretty Ellen Purple is a beautiful variety of hellebore with pretty slate-purple shaded flowers and a lovely soft golden centre. Every petal appears in deep shades of slate-purple and they bloom from February through April.
The stunning, pendent or outward-facing, saucer-shaped flowers appear above leathery, deep green leaves. This is a wonderful lenten rose variety and the flower colour is extremely unusual as well as beautiful. The flowers look particularly good when planted with Spring flowering bulbs such as narcissi and hyacinth. Like all Hellebores, it is a great ground cover plant for areas of dappled shade under deciduous trees and shrubs.
The leathery, evergreen leaves that provide all year round interest can be cut in late Winter, to really show off the flowers to maximum effect.
Looks wonderful planted in a container, or as part of a border mixed in with ferns or hostas. Grows best in a part shady spot and like all hellebores, prefers a heavy soil.
Top Quality bushy plants are supplied in approx. 1 litre pots, these really are outstanding value for money.
Perfect for adding garden interest when little else is flowering, plant these now to guarantee the beautiful flowers every winter each and every year in to the future.
