The Hosta 'Colored Hulk' is a dramatic and attractive option for shaded garden areas, with huge, heart-shaped leaves with creamy-yellow cores and brilliant green edges. This striking perennial brings lush, tropical vibe to borders, woodland gardens, and container displays. In the summer, beautiful lavender flowers bloom on towering branches, lending a subtle, flowery touch to the foliage's powerful backdrop. The Colored Hulk is ideal for adding texture and contrast to mixed plantings and thrives in damp, well-drained conditions.
Plant in partial or full shade to avoid burning the foliage. Hosta 'Coloured Hulk' likes humus-rich, moisture-retaining soil. To preserve its lush appearance, water it on a regular basis, especially during dry months. To keep the soil cool and wet, use a mulch of well-rotted compost or leaf mould. Ferns, heucheras, and astilbes make excellent companion plants for a calm, woodland-inspired arrangement.
