Hydrangea serrata Bluebird

'Bluebird' is an enchanting, compact shrub that produces beautiful blue flowers surrounded by larger pale pink or blue florets. The flowers last from the summer through to autumn, potentially giving you two seasons worth of beautiful blooms in one year. The leaves are a rich, dark green during the spring and summer before providing gorgeous red atutmn colour. Once the flower heads start to die off in mid-late autumn, some people leave them on the plant for a rustic look paired with the red foliage.

Hydrangeas enjoy full sun and will also grow well in partial shade. This is quite a versatile plant; it will grow in any soil type except for chalk, as long as the soil is well-drained and kept moist. It will also grow in any aspect and in a sheltered or exposed position, adding to its versatility. This plant is perfect for smaller gardens or patios.
