Ilex aquifolium Myrtifolia - Dwarf Male Holly
Availability: In stock
This beautiful holly tree has lovely dark green foliage, and will make a classy addition to any patio or garden.
More commonly known as the Prickly Pineapple Holly, Ilex myrtifolia is a compact variety with dusky young purple shoots and thin, slender dark green leaves edged by fine, moderately soft spines. Myrtifolia holly is a very unusual male variety of common holly, compact and slow growing, and will therefore be an ideal pollinating partner for the varieties that bear berries in your garden. With its deep green, small, super glossy leaves, it can be celebrated as a close topiary, or tucked in a corner in the background to help with the production of berries with any female hollies in the locality out of prominent view but functional.
Supplied in approx 2-3 litre containers.
