The traditional and highly regarded Vitis vinifera 'Pinot Noir' grapevine is known for yielding some of the best red wines on the planet. At five or six feet tall, this large specimen is ideal for both wine lovers and gardeners. It yields dark purple grapes, which are prized for their complex flavours and aromatic qualities, in small, clusters.

Growing best in full sun and well-drained soil, 'Pinot Noir' is perfect for training over trellises, pergolas, or along fences. Pruning on a regular basis is necessary to keep it in shape and promote maximum fruit production. Although this grapevine requires little upkeep, it does benefit from adequate ventilation and protection from excessive moisture.Â
