Leucothoe Rainbow - Burnish Bronze-Red & Cream Evergreen Switch Ivy Plants

Easy to grow and excellent ground cover

Colour all year, particularly from Autumn, well into spring

Robust foliage green-copper colour in summer followed by stunning marbled claret purple red tints in the winter.

Dense, compact, bushy habit preferring a moist soil in partial shade.

Ideal for container planting in winter, and also superb for ground cover when planted en-mass.

This plant is a truely wonderful evergreen, with slender arching reddish branches bearing glossy, lance-shaped leaves of burnished bronze-red, mottled with cream and pink. In Spring, the stems are clothed in small cream flowers that hang down from the arching branches creating an extra dimension to the plant.

It is a perfect plant as a filler in the garden or as a feature on its own, we've seen it teamed up as a wonderful back drop to brightly coloured Midwinter Fire Dogwoods, which makes for a magnificent combination in the winter garden. If you have a troublesome problem shady area, this could also be the solution, as the are quite tolerant of shade and will even grow under trees with just a smaller amount of dappled light.

For interest on the Patio in the duller months, plant in generous containers and keep as a feature in their own right, or team up with contrasting lighter colour plants such as heathers or Skimmia Magic Marlot, or even ornamental Grasses such as Carex Evergold.

Supplied as bushy plants in approx. 10cm containers.
