Magnolia 'Shirazz'

Product ref: SP25815

Availability: In stock

Magnolia 'Shirazz' is a truly eye-catching deciduous tree, celebrated for its exceptionally deep, rich burgundy-purple blooms. Flowering in early to mid-spring, its elegant, tulip-shaped flowers open on bare branches, creating a dramatic display before the leaves emerge. As the flowers mature, they soften to a reddish-pink, adding depth and variation to the show.

With a neat, upright habit and moderate growth rate, 'Shirazz' is perfect as a specimen tree in lawns, courtyards, or mixed borders. Its mid-green foliage provides a fresh backdrop in summer, while its compact shape suits smaller gardens or more formal settings.

This one is truly a stunner. At its already impressive height, it is perfect for going straight into the garden as a showstopping centrepiece.

Magnolia 'Shirazz' thrives in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil and prefers a sheltered position in full sun to partial shade. Protect early buds from late frosts to enjoy the full splendour of its blooms. Pair with spring bulbs like snowdrops or underplant with evergreen shrubs for a layered, season-long display.

Supplied in approx. 30 litre containers. Height 220-240cm.
