Melon Plant 'Malaga'

Product ref: VEG28756

Availability: In stock

Melon ‘Malaga’ is a delicious cantaloupe-type variety prized for its sweet, aromatic flavour and attractive netted fruits. Producing round to slightly oval melons with beautifully textured skin and vibrant orange flesh, this variety offers excellent sweetness and a juicy, refreshing texture. The fruits typically reach a generous size and are perfect for enjoying fresh, adding to fruit salads, blending into smoothies, or creating summer desserts.

This variety requires consistently warm growing conditions to perform at its best and is ideally suited to greenhouses, polytunnels, conservatories, or a very sunny position outdoors. Plant in fertile, moisture-retentive soil and provide regular watering while fruits are developing, reducing watering slightly as they ripen to enhance flavour. Feed with a high-potash fertiliser throughout the season and pinch out growing tips after fruit set to encourage larger, better-quality melons. Harvest when the fruits become fragrant and begin to separate naturally from the stem.

Melons are among the most rewarding summer crops, producing exceptionally sweet, sun-ripened fruits that are difficult to match from shop-bought alternatives.

Supplied in approx. 9cm pots.
