Miscanthus sinensis Strictus - Zebra Grass

Product ref: SP21946

Availability: Out of stock

Miscanthus sinensis 'Strictus', commonly known as Zebra Grass, is an ornamental grass prized for its tall, upright habit and distinctive horizontal yellow bands across its green blades. These bold stripes give it a unique, eye-catching look that adds texture and movement to garden borders, prairie-style plantings, or as a standalone specimen. Reaching up to 1.5–2 metres in height, 'Strictus' produces feathery, reddish-bronze flower plumes in late summer, which mature to silvery tones and remain attractive through winter. Its foliage also turns golden-yellow in autumn, extending its seasonal appeal.

Thriving in well-drained soil and full sun, this low-maintenance grass is drought-tolerant once established and adds height and structure to the garden year-round. Cut back to the base in late winter or early spring before new growth appears. Pair with Echinacea, Rudbeckia, or Sedum for a dynamic scheme.

Supplied in approx. 10 litre containers.
