Nandina domestica Summer Sunset - Sacred Heavenly Bamboo

Nandina Summer Sunset is a recent introduction of compact 'Sacred Bamboo' with beautiful young foliage of deep purple leaves with striking, intense red tones to the youngest foliage and stems, this is followed by glowing shades of orange that gradually fade to older dark green leaves. A fantastic evergreen, the majestic foliage is carried all year round providing interest whatever the season.

In summer, elegant stems bare dark pink buds that open to delicate small white flowers. An outstanding beautiful shrub who's growth eventually reaches 1.5m tall, it prefers sun or partial shade in well-drained soil. Nandina look lovely as a specimen plant in a garden border or perhaps try in a pot on your patio or balcony, it can even be used as an informal hedge.
