Nigella papillosa Delft Blue

Product ref: P28773

Availability: Out of stock

Nigella 'Delft Blue' is a charming cottage garden annual producing delicate, airy flowers in soft shades of blue and white from June to August. Surrounded by fine, feathery foliage, the blooms create a romantic, naturalistic effect that is perfect for borders, wildlife gardens and cut flower displays. Attractive seed pods follow the flowers, extending the plant’s ornamental appeal well into autumn.

Growing to around 45-60cm in height, love-in-a-mist thrives with minimal attention and readily self-seeds in favourable conditions. Regular watering during prolonged dry spells will help maintain flowering, while occasional deadheading can encourage further blooms. However, leaving some flowers to form seed pods provides valuable late-season interest and allows plants to naturally reappear the following year. Avoid overly rich soils, as this can encourage excess foliage at the expense of flowers. Plant in full sun and well-drained soil for the best performance. Pair with cosmos for a beautiful cottage garden display.

Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
