Onopordum acanthium - Silver Scotch Thistle
Commonly known as the Silver Scotch Thistle, Onopordum acanthium is a striking architectural plant with bold, spiny, silver-grey foliage and tall stems topped with beautiful purple thistle flowers in summer. Its structure and shimmering tones make it a standout in wildlife and cottage gardens, attracting pollinators.
To maximise its appeal, pair with lavender or perovskia for a more naturalistic look. Ensure to plant in full sun in well-drained soil, allowing space to grow, and remove spent flowers to control self-seeding.
Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
