Poppy Plant 'Ladybird' - Papaver commutatum

Product ref: PP28658

Availability: In stock

Papaver commutatum ‘Ladybird’ is an unusual poppy celebrated for its unique blooms reminiscent of a Lady Bird thanks to the bold red colouration accented by large basal black blotches.

Creating a stunning display from late spring to early summer the brilliant scarlet-red petals marked with the distinctive black spots at the base, resembling a ladybird, really are outstanding.

The light, papery flowers dance above light green stems, attracting pollinators and adding a splash of colour to any sunny garden space, even on poor soils. Perfect for cottage gardens, wildflower meadows or informal borders, it pairs beautifully with cornflowers or grasses for a natural look. Easy to grow, it thrives in well-drained soil and full sun, often self-seeding freely to return year after year once planted. Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
