It's perfect as a structural centre piece in your patio planters to show off other plants, with the new growth looking particularly attractive in Spring and Summer.

An excellent choice to contrast flowering plants thanks to its shape and texture, this shapely evergreen is also the ideal plant for some winter interest when many other plants are sleeping. Did you know all species of spruce trees (genus Picea), including Picea glauca 'Conica' (dwarf Alberta spruce), are considered non-toxic and have edible parts! 
The most commonly consumed parts are the bright green, tender new shoots (called "spruce tips") that emerge in the spring. These tips have a distinct, strong, citrusy or piney flavor and are rich in vitamin C.
