Pear Tree - Williams' Bon Chrétien (Quince A)

Product ref: T28377

Availability: Out of stock

A timeless favourite, Williams Bon Chrétien is a classic dessert pear renowned for its sweet, aromatic flavour and soft, buttery texture. Producing golden-yellow fruit with a juicy bite, it’s perfect for fresh eating, cooking, or preserving. Harvested in early autumn, the pears ripen quickly off the tree, offering a short but truly delicious seasonal treat. Its spring blossom is also a magnet for pollinators. Williams Bon Chrétien is not self-fertile (pollination group 3), so it will need a compatible partner, such as Conference nearby, to ensure good fruiting. Prune in winter to maintain form and encourage strong growth. Grow with Concorde or Beth for reliable pollination and a beautifully varied pear harvest.

Supplied in approx. 12 litre containers grafted on a Quince A rootstock, which produces a tree to a height of 3-4m after 5-10 years. It is often considered equivalent to the apple MM106 but is less vigorous. Quince A does best in good soils but is not tolerant of chalk or drought conditions.
