The striking evergreen perennial Phormium tenax 'Tricolour', also called New Zealand Flax, is well-known for its vivid, sword-shaped leaves. The foliage adds year-round interest and striking colour to any garden with its gorgeous blend of green and creamy-yellow stripes bordered in red. 'Tricolour' is a plant that looks great in borders, containers, or as a statement piece. It needs well-drained soil and full to partial shade to grow. It is ideal for both traditional and modern garden designs because it requires little upkeep and can withstand droughts.
