Grow Pittosporum tenuifolium 'Golden Ball' in a sunny or partially shaded position, ideally sheltered from cold, drying winds. A bright position helps maintain its attractive golden foliage, although some protection from intense afternoon sunshine can be beneficial in particularly exposed locations. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil, avoiding areas prone to winter waterlogging.
