Plum Tree - Opal Bush (Julien A)
Availability: Out of stock
Our Opal Bush tree has one of the earliest and tastiest plums you can grow, often ready to pick as soon as late July. In spring, it reveals bundles of pure white flowers, filling the garden with charm before the glossy green foliage appears. Its medium-sized fruits ripen to a rich reddish-purple, often compared to the famous greengage. Perfect to be eaten straight from the tree, they’re also excellent for jams, tarts, and puddings.

Compact and easy to grow, this bush form is ideal for family gardens, cottage plots, or smaller orchards, offering a heavy crop without demanding much space. It thrives in full sun and enjoys fertile, well-drained soil. Minimal winter pruning keeps the tree productive, while watering during dry spells and mulching in spring help to boost fruit size and flavour. Hardy, reliable, and delightfully early, the Opal Bush Plum Tree is a must-have for gardeners wanting to enjoy one of the first harvests of summer.
