Plumbago auriculata Azur

Plumbago auriculata 'Azur' is a beautifully floriferous shrub that brings a relaxed Mediterranean feel to gardens with its masses of sky-blue flowers. Blooming continuously from early summer through to the first frosts, the delicate five-petalled blooms are carried against fresh green foliage, creating a light, airy display that attracts bees and butterflies throughout the season. Perfect for Mediterranean-style gardens, sunny borders, courtyard planting and large containers, 'Azur' thrives in a warm, sheltered position with fertile, well-drained soil. In milder areas, it can be grown outdoors year-round, while in colder regions it performs best in pots that can be moved to a frost-free location over winter. Water regularly during its first growing season and throughout prolonged dry spells, especially in containers, but avoid waterlogging. Lightly prune in early spring to maintain a neat shape and encourage vigorous new flowering growth.
