Primula belarina Valentine - Sumptuous Double Red Perennial Primrose

Hard to find, truly perennial Double flowering Primroses that grow and get better in your garden year after year. Famed for their flowers that have the appearance of small roses, double primroses have been cherished in English cottage gardens for centuries, but as this gardening style fell out of favour, they nearly became extinct - thankfully however they're now regaining popularity and making a comeback - and it is easy to see why.

These hardy red Valentine plants are easy-to-grow, boasting large fully double flowers on sturdy, upright stems. They come into bloom early and flower much longer than other primulas, the blooms are produced from March-May and are a vivid scarlet red, these come in their masses to cover the attractive green foliage.

Compact and long-blooming, they are very easy to grow and rewarding. They'll put on a tremendous show each and every year in the spring garden, their double rose-like flowers attracting comments from all who see them. Plant towards the front of the border for a real flowering treat early in the year. They're also fantastic used in patio planters and window boxes.
