Protea Leucadendron 'Burgundy Sunset' - Purple Protea

This frost tolerant South African native is an especially striking plant and perfect for many difficult garden situations, absolutely thriving in poor dry soils, it is low maintenance and easy to keep.

Leucadendron Burgundy Sunset would make a great contrasting feature plant in any garden or well drained patio planter nearer the house. It is an evergreen high impact plant with striking dark burgundy, almost black foliage that sets off rich deep burgundy flowers perfectly.

The blooms appear in autumn and last well, even in to the winter, providing much needed colour and drama when little else blooms. Requiring very little care and attention and rewarding neglect with a stunning show, it likes full sun and good drainage, and being from South Africa is drought tolerant too.
