Grow a gigantic showstopper with Pumpkin 'Big Max', a remarkable variety noted for producing massive fruits weighing more than 45 kg! Its smooth, vivid orange exterior and rich, sweet meat make it great for autumn displays, carving and hearty soups and pies. This fast-growing pumpkin is popular in competitions and creates an impressive presence to any vegetable patch.
Plant in full sun in rich, well-drained soil with lots of room to grow. To stimulate large fruit growth, water thoroughly and frequently, and feed with a high-potash fertiliser. Harvest before the first frost, when the skin is firm. Combine with sunflowers for a traditional autumn garden scene.

Plant in rich, well-drained soil that receives full sun. Give plants enough room to spread out as they grow. Water the soil frequently to maintain an even moisture level, and mulch to keep moisture in the soil and keep weeds out. Harvest the pumpkins in late autumn, or whenever the skin hardens and the colour reaches its peak.
