Rosa 'William Lobb', also known as Old Velvet Moss, is a striking old moss rose, producing large, fully double blooms in rich shades of purple-crimson, magenta, and violet that fade beautifully to grey-lilac as they age. Flowering once in early to midsummer, the opulent blooms are strongly scented and set against mossy, resin-scented stems and healthy green foliage. Its unusual colouring and historic charm make it a true collector’s rose.

Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Prune lightly in late winter to maintain shape. Ideal for heritage rose gardens, cottage-style borders, or as a dramatic specimen shrub where its unique colours and fragrance can be admired.
