Ilex aquilfolium Alaska - Holly

Ilex aquifolium ‘Alaska’ is a beautiful female variety of holly that carries masses of berries along with traditional dark green glossy leaves. It grows into a gorgeous small tree or large shrub. In the spring and summer, small white flowers cover the plant in preparation for the classic red berries that holly is known for. The berries add some gorgeous autumn and winter colour to your garden, and can of course be used in festive displays and wreath making when cut with foliage from established specimens.

This versatile plant will grow under practically any conditions - any soil type that is moist and well-drained and in a garden facing any aspect. It will thrive in full sun or partial shade in an exposed or sheltered position.
