Tamarix Parviflora tetrandra - Tamarisk

Tamarix parviflora, an elegant, deciduous shrub or small tree with delicate, feathery foliage and cascading pink blooms in spring, can be used to create a dramatic, airy show. A cloud of tiny, pale pink blossoms that draw pollinators follows this drought-tolerant plant's almost black branches that are covered in tiny, soft green leaves. Because of its delicate, flowing shape, it's a great option for coastal gardens, areas that welcome animals, or as a windbreak in exposed places.

Tamarix parviflora can tolerate poor soils and even saline conditions, but it prefers full sun and well-drained soil. Although it needs little maintenance, trimming is beneficial once in a while after flowering to preserve shape and promote new growth.
