Salix helvetica - Swiss Silver Willow - Shrub

This fully hardy silvery shrub carries golden buds that develop into narrow, silvery-grey catkins in Spring before the foliage takes over the show. 

Elegant, and fast-growing this Salix remains a compact shrub or small tree with shoots and leaves which are heavily felted, giving a distinct glaucous-silvery appearance.

This native to the Alps, is truly a sight to behold and makes a stunning feature for planting by pools or streams or anywhere it may be easily appreciated.
