Salix babylonica tortuosa - Contorted Willow

This truly unique tree will be a real talking point in the garden. Salix babylonica tortuosa, sometimes called a 'Dragon Claw,' has golden twisted stems from which the foliage grows. These give it a fantastic architectural silhouette, something a little different from usual willows.
This charming ornamental tree brings year-round interest, but truly shines in winter when frost highlights its curling stems with a shimmering, crystallised effect. Ideal as a feature plant, it pairs beautifully with grasses and winter shrubs. Plant in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil, and prune lightly to maintain shape and encourage fresh growth.
