Salvia officinalis 'Berggarten' is a compact, ornamental sage with silvery-green leaves that are both beautiful and edible. Unlike traditional sage, it rarely flowers, which helps concentrate flavour in the leaves, making it a prized culinary herb. Its neat, rounded shape adds structure to herb gardens, borders, or pots, while the soft, textured foliage brings year-round interest.
Plant in full sun and in well-drained soil. 'Berggarten' is drought-tolerant once established. Trim regularly to keep its shape and encourage fresh growth. Ideal for kitchen gardens, Mediterranean borders, or containers near outdoor cooking spaces.
