Scabiosa Fata Morgana - Pincushion Flower - Scabious
Availability: In stock
Attract butterflies to your garden in droves with this mouth-watering scabious. Scabiosa atropurpurea ‘Fata Morgana’ bears beautifully ruffled, soft buttery-yellow pincushion flowers above delicate, airy stems from late spring until autumn. Graceful and versatile, plant this perennial in cottage-garden and prairie-style arrangements, or style it fashionably in vases as cut flowers.
Scabiosa plants prefer moist, but well-drained soil, a very sunny position and some shelter from harsh winds. Water during dry weather, remove spent flowers regularly, and lightly trim plants after flowering to maintain a tidy habit. Pair with lavender for a soft pastel planting combination, and if blooms are left to mature, the seed heads provide lasting late-season interest. Easy to grow, 'Fata Morgana' is a rare and elegant variety perfect for adding a touch of understated charm to borders and containers.
Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
