Scabiosa Fire King - Pincushion Flower - Scabious

Product ref: P27911

Availability: In stock

Attract butterflies to your garden in droves with this mouth-watering scabious. Scabiosa atropurpurea ‘Fire King’ produces vivid scarlet-red pincushion blooms with prominent stamens held on wiry stems from late spring until autumn. Bright and versatile, plant this perennial in cottage gardens and mixed border arrangements or style fashionably in vases as cut flowers.

'Fire King' requires well-drained soil, a full sun position and protection from wet winter conditions. Water during dry weather, remove spent flowers regularly, and lightly trim plants after flowering to maintain a tidy habit. Pair with rudbeckias and salvias for a bold summer display, and if flowers are left on the plant, the decorative seed heads will extend seasonal interest well into autumn. Easy to grow, 'Fire King' is a dazzling variety that fills borders with colour, movement and pollinator activity.

Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
