Also called pincushion flower, Scabiosa 'bright violet' is an exceptional perennial with eye-catching, bright violet blossoms perched on wiry, slender stalks. This species is especially well-known for its big, frilly flowers, which draw butterflies and bees and make it a great option for gardens that support pollinators. Blooming from the beginning of summer long into October, 'Vivid Violet' adds a vibrant burst of colour to any border, cottage garden, or container planting.
Scabiosa 'Vivid Violet' grows 40–50 cm tall and does best in full sun with well-drained soil. Once planted, it can withstand some drought, so gardens in warmer climes or those trying to use less water can benefit from it.
