Sedum spurium ‘Solarity’ is a magnificent evergreen stonecrop that forms a dense, spreading carpet of fleshy foliage topped with masses of vivid ruby-red star-shaped flowers from mid to late summer. The colourful blooms create a dramatic contrast against the succulent leaves, attracting bees, butterflies and other pollinators. As temperatures cool, the foliage often develops rich bronze and reddish-purple tones, ensuring year-round interest in the garden.
Perfect for rockeries, gravel gardens, alpine troughs, green roofs and the front of sunny borders, ‘Solarity’ is an excellent ground cover plant that quickly fills gaps between paving stones and cascades attractively over walls and raised beds. Its low-growing habit works beautifully in contemporary planting schemes, Mediterranean-style gardens and drought-tolerant displays. Exceptionally easy to grow, it thrives in poor to moderately fertile, well-drained soils and requires very little maintenance once established. Avoid waterlogged conditions, particularly during winter, and trim back any faded flower stems in early spring to maintain a neat appearance. Plant in full sun for the strongest flower colour and healthiest growth.
Supplied in approx 9cm pots.
