Stokesia laevis 'Blue Star'

Product ref: P26114

Availability: Out of stock

Known by most as Stokes' Aster, Stokesia laevis 'Blue Star' is a pretty perennial with huge, cornflower-blue blooms that bloom from mid-summer to early autumn. With their pronounced centres and fringed petals, these daisy-like flowers draw pollinators and liven up any garden. Its sleek clump of dark green, lance-shaped foliage is ideal for planting in borders, beds, or containers.

Plant in rich, well-drained soil that receives full sun. Water frequently, especially when it's dry outside, but don't let it get excessively wet. Remove spent petals to promote longer blooming. To tidy up the plant and get it ready for winter, trim back the foliage in late autumn. Combine with purple coneflowers or yellow coreopsis for a visually arresting and vibrant garden arrangement.

Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
