Syringa vulgaris Carpe Diem - Lilac
Availability: In stock
Syringa vulgaris 'Carpe Diem' is a stunning deciduous lilac, celebrated for its richly scented, bi-coloured flowers that add elegance and fragrance to late spring gardens. The large, upright panicles are packed with double blooms, deep purple in bud, opening to reveal soft lavender petals edged with white, creating a striking and unusual two-tone effect. Perfect as a specimen shrub, in mixed borders, or cottage-style planting schemes, 'Carpe Diem' also attracts bees and butterflies with its sweet fragrance. It thrives in fertile, well-drained soil and enjoys a sunny position to produce the best floral display.
After flowering, prune lightly to maintain shape and encourage strong growth for the following year. This variety pairs beautifully with spring bulbs, peonies, or old-fashioned roses for a romantic and timeless garden look. A superb choice for adding height, structure, and seasonal scent to your garden.
Fully hardy. Supplied as strong plants in approx. 4 litre containers.
