Availability: Out of stock
Delightfully old-fashioned and bursting with character, 'Ashmead's Kernel' is a heritage apple variety prized for its richly aromatic, nutty flavour and crisp, juicy flesh. This, paired with its green, rustic look, flushed with bronze russeting grants it consideration as one of the finest dessert apples for juicing or fresh eating.
Â
This bush-form apple tree is ideal for small gardens, traditional orchards, or fruit gardens. In spring it is littered with soft, pink-white blossoms attracting pollinators in droves. This apple ripens in October and stores exceptionally well into the New Year.
Â
Supplied in approx. 12 litre containers grafted on a MM106 rootstock, this semi-dwarf variety of rootstock reaches an ultimate height of 3-5m and most of the crop should be accessible from the ground, picking fruit from higher up on the tree may require a ladder.Â
