Cherry Tree - Summer Sun Bush (Colt)
Availability: Out of stock
Bring a taste of sunshine to your garden with our Summer Sun Cherry Tree, a hardy, self-fertile variety perfect for UK growers. In spring, it erupts with pretty white flowers, filling your garden with beauty and attracting bees and butterflies. By late July, you’ll be rewarded with heavy crops of large, glossy, deep red cherries. Each fruit is sweet, juicy, and bursting with rich flavour, wonderful for eating fresh, baking into pies, or making jams. The cherries ripen later than many varieties, extending the season and ensuring you enjoy a long-lasting harvest.
Care is refreshingly simple: water well in dry spells, mulch in spring to conserve moisture, and prune lightly after fruiting to keep it healthy and shapely. Ideal for traditional gardens, family plots, and mixed orchard-style borders, 'Summer Sun' thrives in full sun and prefers fertile, well-drained soil. Its bush form makes it manageable, reliable, and easy to harvest.
Supplied in approx. 12 litre containers grafted on a Colt rootstock. This semi-vigorous variety produces smaller trees with an ultimate height of 2m, perfect for smaller gardens. They prefer medium to heavily fertile soil. If planting multiple fruit trees, place 6m apart from each other.
