Verbena rigida 'Polaris'

Verbena rigida 'Polaris' is a compact and floriferous perennial, showcasing dense clusters of soft lilac-white flowers held above attractive, textured foliage. Unlike many bedding verbenas, this variety has a more naturalistic appearance and is ideal for prairie-style planting, pollinator gardens, and mixed perennial borders. The flowers appear over an exceptionally long period, providing colour from summer well into autumn.

Perfect for attracting butterflies and other pollinators, this colourful Verbena prefers a very sunny position in moisture-retentive, well-drained soil. Deadhead faded flower clusters regularly to encourage fresh blooms and prevent plants from becoming leggy. A fortnightly liquid feed throughout summer will promote stronger flowering, while occasional trimming of straggly stems helps maintain a neat, compact shape. Water regularly during hot, dry spells, particularly when grown in containers and hanging baskets. A magnet for bees and butterflies, 'Polaris' combines beautifully with white, purple, or pink verbenas, or echinacea and rudbeckia.
