Viburnum dilatatum Sealing Wax
Viburnum dilatatum 'Sealing Wax' is a deciduous shrub loved for its bright red berries and attractive foliage. In spring, it produces clusters of creamy-white flowers that sit above dense green leaves. As the seasons shift, the foliage turns vibrant shades of red and burgundy in autumn, while the plant becomes heavily laden with bright, glossy red berries that persist well into winter, a magnet for birds and a stunning seasonal feature.
Compact and easy to grow, 'Sealing Wax' is perfect for mixed borders, wildlife gardens, or as a colourful specimen shrub. It thrives in fertile, well-drained soil and a sunny to partially shaded position. For the best berry display, plant alongside another Viburnum dilatatum variety to ensure cross-pollination.
Prune after flowering to maintain shape if needed. Pair with ornamental grasses, dogwoods, or evergreens for a richly layered garden display with multi-season appeal.
Supplied growing in approx. 4-5 litre containers.
