Viburnum henryi
Availability: In stock
A rare and wonderful evergreen Viburnum, henryi is prized for its cones of white summer flowers and large, attractive foliage. Strong stems with striking red tips bear elongated glossy, dark-green leaves that remain all year round and contrast amazingly with the bright blooms. The flowers emerge in June on green panicles ranging from 5-10cm in length and open in small clusters with creamy-white petals. These blooms are then followed by red oval fruits that gradually mature to lovely shades of dark-red and black, which are highly attractive to wildlife. A hardy and strong shrub, this Viburnum is well suited to use for hedging or screening and also looks amazing at the back of a mixed border.Â
Â
Plant henryi in moist but well-drained soil and make sure to place it in full sun or partial shade. This is a very hardy Viburnum so can be planted in sheltered or exposed gardens and will thrive in most UK climates. It can grow in any soil type or pH.Â
