This ‘Purpureum’ variety of Viburnum is unique providing you with fantastic evergreen foliage colour as well as amazing winter flowers! New leaves emerge stunning shades of purple and bronze gradually turning green as they mature but becoming tinged with purple when the weather becomes cold. Its characteristic red stems are upright in form and contrast amazingly against the foliage and blooms. The flowers open in clusters and display beautiful shades of pale-pink and white in mid-winter, remaining all the way until mid-spring when they are then followed by dark blue berries. ‘Pupureum’s evergreen colour and seasonal blooms make it well suited to planting at the back of a border or within a container planting scheme on a patio or balcony. 

 

A highly versatile shrub, this Viburnum will thrive in full sun, partial sun, or full shade and can grow in any soil type or pH. It should be sheletered from cold winds and planted in well-drained soil.
