Clematis Etoile Violette - Late Summer Flowering Clematis
Availability: In stock
Clematis 'Étoile Violette' is a vigorous, fully hardy climber renowned for its masses of velvety deep violet-purple flowers with creamy yellow centres. Flowering prolifically from July through September, this late-season clematis creates a spectacular display, smothering walls, fences, arches and obelisks in vibrant colour. Its scrambling habit also makes it ideal for weaving through mature shrubs, climbing roses or small trees, adding height and elegance to any garden while extending the flowering season well into late summer.
Easy to grow and exceptionally reliable, this violet climber thrives in fertile, moist, but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. Incorporate compost or manure when planting and prune hard in early spring to encourage new growth and abundant flowering. Pair with climbing roses or pale-flowered clematis for a breathtaking display that returns bigger and better year after year. Also looks magnificent planted against a sunny wall or fence.
Supplied in approx. 1 litre containers.
