Distylium 'Blue Cascade' - LARGE

This beautiful variety of Distylium is the queen of year-round interest; it is evergreen, so its lovely foliage lasts the whole year and is always doing something interesting. It grows in bronzed and matures into a bluish green colour with striking green central veins and undersides. This creates a great amount of interest and dimension to your garden. It has an interesting, unusual habit of growing in a cascading fashion making it stand out from your other shrubs. It doesn’t stop there – this plant also flowers in April and May, giving you gorgeous spikes of red flowers. It stays quite compact so is perfect for smaller gardens, patios or as additions to mixed borders or beds.

This is a diverse plant that can grow in full sun or partial shade, in any well-drained soil that is kept an average moisture. If you’re going to prune this plant, it should be after flowering.
